Credit and referrals

The wallet behind your allowance, top-ups, and the credit you earn by inviting people.

Credit is a plain USD balance attached to your account. It pays for free-tier runs, covers overage once a package's allowance is gone, and is what your welcome grant and any referral bonuses land in.

Where credit comes from

How credit is spent

Two different rates, depending on whether you have an active package:

On the free tier a run is charged at what it actually cost. That is why $1.00 stretches to roughly three runs rather than one; the difference is what we spend on letting you try the product properly.
On a paid package runs come out of your monthly allowance first. Once that is used, each further run is $0.85 from credit.

Why your balance dips before a run finishes

Starting a run reserves credit for it, and the reservation is released and replaced by the real charge when the run settles. You will occasionally see a reservation and a release in your ledger around the same time; that is the mechanism working, not a double charge.

The reservation is also what makes it safe to start two runs at once: they cannot both spend the same last dollar.

Note

Your balance also caps how much an agent run is allowed to spend on itself. Holding $1.00 means the agent works to a $1.00 ceiling rather than its usual one, so it stops cleanly instead of running out mid-way.

Running out

Below a small minimum balance, new runs are refused with a message telling you so, rather than started and abandoned half way. Add a credit pack or pick a package and the same request works immediately; nothing you typed is lost.

Referrals

Your personal referral code is in Settings, under your profile details. When a new account is created with it, both accounts receive $1.00 of credit, recorded in each ledger as a referral bonus.

The bonus applies once per new account, at sign-up; it cannot be added afterwards.
The sign-up form does not show a code field yet, so pass your code along with the invite and we will apply it.
Referral credit behaves like any other credit; it has no expiry and no separate rules.
