Getting started

Onboarding and the tour

The five-step setup wizard and the in-app tour you can replay at any time.

There are two guided experiences: a short wizard the first time you sign in, and a tour of the generation screen you can start whenever you like. Both are optional and neither one changes anything you cannot change again later.

The onboarding wizard

Straight after verification you get five short steps. They exist to save you a trip to Settings, not to gate the product; Skip tour is on every step.

StepWhat it asks
WelcomeNothing. It tells you the next three choices are all reversible.
Output languageVerilog or VHDL as your default for new runs.
Target deviceThe vendor family your synthesis estimates are measured against.
ToolsA read-only introduction to the tool groups; nothing to choose.
First moduleAn optional starter description, prefilled into the composer.

Whatever you pick is saved as your run defaults. Change them any time in Settings under Setup, or per run in the Run setup panel.

The in-app tour

Take the tour sits at the bottom of the sidebar and on the generation screen. It walks the composer, the mode toggle, the model picker, the tools menu and the run setup panel, highlighting each one in place rather than in a video.

Heads up

The last stop of the tour runs a real generation so you can see the whole flow finish. That run is billed like any other; if you would rather not spend it, close the tour at that step.

The tour starts by itself once, on your first visit to the generator. After that it only runs when you ask for it, and you can replay it as often as you want.

What the tour touches

As it moves, the tour flips the settings it is describing: it switches to Agent mode, picks a model, turns on a couple of tools and opens the run setup panel. Those changes stay after the tour ends, so glance over the composer before your next run if you want different ones.
